Los Osos

An unincorporated community on the south shore of Morro Bay, about 12 miles west of San Luis Obispo, between the estuary and Montaña de Oro State Park. For more than 35 years almost no new homes could be built here. That freeze ended in late 2024, and new homes are now allotted each year under a growth cap.
